Biography

Samiksha Gupta is a contemporary visual artist whose practice sits at the intersection of classical tradition and modern sensibility. Working primarily in oil, she explores the quiet theatre of everyday life through a language shaped by materiality, color, and form.

Gupta began painting in 2018, following an earlier career in consumer technology where she collaborated with CEOs and founders to scale early-stage ventures. She later trained extensively in Italy and France, studying classical drawing and painting at Florence Studio and the Florence Classical Arts Academy, and worked under master instructors from the Florence Academy of Art, the Russian Academy, Yale School of Art, and Studio Escalier. She was invitedone of the only fifteen artists worldwideto train in classical painting at the Grand Central Atelier in New York City, and received a grant from the Florence Classical Arts Academy in 2020.

This immersive classical training informs her grounded yet exploratory approach, where constructive drawing, color theory, and traditional techniques meet contemporary experimentation. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Visual Arts Gallery (India Habitat Centre), Elements Art Space Gallery (London), Stainless Gallery (New Delhi), and at the Bombay Art Society (est. 1888). She received First Place at Gallery Art-Collide's Summer 2025 exhibition.

Drawing from global creative communities and a multidisciplinary background, Gupta brings a detailed, research-rich and intuitive lens to visual storytelling. She currently lives and works in Gurgaon, India, with her beloved chihuahua, Tabasco, and maintains an active studio practice to develop a growing portfolio of paintings and limitededition prints. She holds a Master's of Science degree from the London School of Economics, UK.
